Company/Organization Name:
Greater Manchester Arts Centre
Comments/description:

The Horizons Festival, developed by CAN and HOMEworks with international communities and artists with lived experience of migration, including forced migration, in Greater Manchester. The festival has been part of an ongoing partnership between CAN and HOME since 2017 and is part of CAN’s ground-breaking Exodus programme.

The festival programmes exciting and thought-provoking performance, dance, music, theatre, visual art, cinema, and discussion – presented live and online – to showcase the talents of international artists who have made Manchester their home, and new migrant artists from the UK’s art scene.

2023 sees the Horizons Festival enter a new and exciting phase of development, and the festival will run between Friday 16 June and Saturday 17 June.

We’re looking for two passionate, creative, and organised people with lived experience of migration to work with us as part-time Assistant Creative Producers and help us on this journey.

It’s been a tough time for artists and communities, so now is the moment to make sure the diverse communities of Manchester have a voice through art, and have access to exciting creative opportunities.

We want to build a team that will help us to make the Horizons Festival the best it can be. If you have fantastic creative ideas, are highly organised, brilliant at relating to people, and are committed to social justice, you could be the person we are looking for, and we’d love to hear from you.

Each of the two Assistant Creative Producers will shadow and be mentored by staff members at CAN and HOME. Each organisation will take lead responsibility for a Producer.

Start date: Monday 6 February 2023.

Number of days: 28 – 30 days

Pay scale: £120 per day or £15 per hour

If this opportunity gets you excited and you think you have the right skills, please get in touch.

Send us your CV and a one-page letter or a 3-minute video telling us:

  1. Why you are interested in working with CAN and HOME on Horizons.
  2. What you’ve done before showing you are organised, reliable and creative.
  3. An outline of your experience organising cultural events in the UK or internationally.
