The ‘Emphasys Centre’ operates in the last 21 years as an Education, ICT Training and Research Centre. It is accredited by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture as an Educational Centre specialising in the ICT field. The ‘Emphasys Centre’ offers specialized courses for professional development (for educators in Cyprus and in Europe), validated courses for the acquisition of professional qualifications and examinable courses for students aiming to enter higher education institutions (universities) in the UK, Greece and Cyprus (GCE A’ Level Computer Science, Pagkypries). The ‘Emphasys Centre’ offers also coding and robotics classes for young people interested to acquire high level of digital competences. As part of the educational services provided, the ‘Emphasys Centre’ offers Career Guidance, Counselling and Mentoring to students and young people.
The ‘Research Centre’ is actively involved in the preparation and submission of research proposals, as well as in the coordination and implementation of European projects mainly under the Erasmus+ Programme in all sectors and actions: Education (School, Adult and Higher Education), VET and Youth. It has an extensive network of partners across Europe working towards the development and implementation of various projects that aim to promote the targets set in ET2020.

The Cyprus Refugee Council and the Emphasys ICT Training, Education and Research Centre are pleased to invite you to the 1st INFO DAY of the European project ENGAGE (Project number: 957673 )!The main aim of the INFO DAY is to introduce to the target group, women from Third Countries (asylum seekers and international protection holders), the ENGAGE’s overall objective and main activities that will support the creation of social, cultural and employment pathways for the integration of TCN women in the host communities.
During the INFO DAY, you will be informed about the opportunities you will be given by taking part in ENGAGE various activities, such as the following:
• Upskilling Workshops: obtain useful information on local society and culture, labour market opportunities, soft and digital skills, CV preparation and networking tips.
• Job Shadowing Scheme: gain first-hand experience in the working environment of a local organization! You will be paired with other women with migration backgrounds who are active members of the community and will serve as mentors, sharing their experience and guiding you in the local labour market and community.
• Women's Circles: break down barriers, stereotypes and increase social interaction and community building by developing a sense of communal identity. The women’s circle activities will encourage women, regardless of nationality, to support each other for the benefit of the community.
• Open Badges: acquire validated skills that will boost your career-seeking journey.
The event will take place online using Zoom on Tuesday, January 18 between 10:00 and 12:00.
